It all started with a tiny dream on a tiny island….

Meet Dee & Fernando, our Island Spice owners! 

They met in high school in Sri Lanka, got married, had a son, and then Fernando took a job working in the kitchen of a large ship. He explored so many different countries and cuisines while working on this ship - something to ask about when you see him on the truck! Here his love for food service began sprouting. 

They eventually immigrated to the US, had three more daughters, became proud US citizens, and started trying their hand at a few entrepreneurial endeavors in Western Mass. Through ups & downs, they always had their eyes set on bringing a little bit of home to New England. 

We are so thrilled to introduce Island Spice Food Truck, New England’s first & only food truck specializing in Sri Lankan cuisine! 

With bright spices and indulgent natural ingredients, the island of Sri Lanka boasts rich, savory street food, and we cannot wait to share this unique experience with New England!
